Hi All,

I have a Word document (2000, XP and 2003) that is misalligning the page
numbers in the TOC (table of contents) when 'update entire table' is selected.
Has anyone come across this issue. I've tried everything I could think of
but after updating TOC it reverts back to being misalligned. Thanks for any
help/advice.

You don't say *how* the page numbers are misaligned, but it's likely that
some tab position has been redefined in the TOC style. If the entries are
numbered, it could be that the number is exceeding the space allotted for it
so that it overruns the tab stop. Or the tab stop at the right margin may
have been moved. It could also be a "Jason tab" issue; see

Suzanne,

Sorry for the lack of detail. I've attached the TOC the way it looks on my
document. It's only for Heading 1.1 and 2.1. All the others are alligned
perfectly.

1.0 “HEADING 1” STYLE..................................4
1.1 “Heading 2” Style..................................4
1.1.1 “Heading 3” Style......................4
2.0 HEADING 1..................................................4
2.1 Heading 2................................................4
2.1.1 Heading 3..................................4
APPENDIX A...........................................................5

Presumably you need to change the tab stop setting for TOC 2 to be the same
as for TOC 1 and TOC 3. For more on this, see
