TOC, PAGE #, CITATIONS, AND EXCEL INSERTS DISAPPEARED

they have been replaced with a { /*merge} for page number, and table of
contents along with citations have long reference number. I attempted to
reinsert but nothinng happen, please help!!

What you are seeing are the field codes for the content that automatically
updates. Press Alt+F9 to toggle off the field codes.
