TOC - Template

In Word 2002, I have 5 templates that a Lotus Notes application updates. The TOC is in one template and the reference styles to fill the TOC are in another template. When I try to set the style to reference, I get an error that there is no TOC. How can I fix this

I am mot sure I understand your problem... and by the looks of it...I am not
the only one! (I mean, nobody has ventured to suggest a solution yet...)

Can you be more explicit?

Possibly this is an application calling for (or attempting to use) RD
fields?
