TOCs and Hidden Paragraph Mark

Does Word 2007 have a better way to exclude text appearing on the same line
as text to be included in the table of contents? In previous versions of
word, a hidden paragraph mark was used to do this. Thanks!

Word 2002 (I think) and above have a Style Separator which accomplishes the
same thing more invisibly.
