Today Page Inbox Counter?

The Today Page shows Inbox / Outbox etc but it has stopped displaying the number of messages unread or read and when I click on Inbox, for example, the page flickers but the Inbox itself does not show

I have tried a repair without success. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?
