Too many hyperlink buttons?

The web site I'm trying to develop has 6 pages and I want each page to have
a link to any other page. So I have generated a page template with 6
hyperlink buttons on it.

However, after generating the pages using that template I end up with around
48 .htm files with the name buttonsomething (where something is a 1-2 digit
hex number).

Somehow I suspect that I shouldn't get that many button files.

Does anyone know what I might have done wrong here.. and how to fix it?

Actually those 48 button files were jpg files (not htm).
