Toolbar not appearing

I have opened another powerpoint document that was sent by someone else
and wish to compress the pictures. I usually right click and add the
"Picture" toolbar then click on the "compress pictures" icon but i am
not able to do any of this. Also when I open the file it completely
changes the view of the powerpoint window. Does anyone know what
causes this ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

First, the "look" of PowerPoint. It may be that the file is set up to run in
Kiosk mode. Does it appear to be in a window? If so, you could go Tools| Set
up show and make it run full screen, like as presented by a speaker. that
is, get rid of "Browsed by an individual".

Second, how do you mean you can't do the compression? Is the option gone,
missing, vaporized? You've gone into format object| Picture tab and it is
not there? What PowerPoint version?

One thing, though. If it is set up for browsing by an individual, and you
right click on the toolbars tog et the picture toolbar, it won't be there.
Another reason to change the Set up show setting. As long as there is no
particular reason hat the author set it up that way and that is how it
should run.
