Tools>Options in Excel 97 crashes Excel

I want to change the default directory where my excel files
are.

I've tried re-installing. It still crashes. Evertyhing
else is fine.

I just downloaded the last critical updates, could that be it?

This worked thank you.

I reset My Documents to just M and I could access the
options tab and change the default directory.
