total cell

Please can anyone tell me why my Total Cell does not
update when I add new data into a cell that is not
adjacent. For exaple, I inserted 4 new rows into a
worksheet and entered numeric data into the cells and the
Total Cell did not change to the new values.

Did you insert them before your total cell, or after?
If you have a formula =sum(a1:a10) and you insert a row at a11 it won't be
included. But if you insert at row 9, it will.
