tracing links

Does anyone have a macro that will trace links and either write a report or
display a view or those linked tasks? Thanks.

Yes,
Take a look at the "Trace" macro on my website.
You could extend it to make a report by using some of the parts of the
export hierarchy to excel macro (open the file, label the columns and then
whenever you find a predecessor or successor write to the appropriate
place).
