Tracking costs for multiple tasks

I over see numerous sites and numerous designers and I need to track
cost per site. I've set each designer a cost per hour and added a
designer to each task but have no idea how to assign a code to each
task and then run a report to evaluate the running costs.

Can anyone help?

Is your Gantt chart set up by site? If so, it is just a level of indenture
issue... make sure each site rolls up together.

Not set up by site? Add a column on the Gantt chart such as Text1, call it
"Site". Enter a site code in the column for every discrete task (summary
tasks if you want to). So, you will have "Site1" scattered throught the
file. Same for "Site2" etc.

Then Project/Group By/Customize Group By....
Select the Text1 as your sort, select or deselect "Show Summary Tasks" as
needed.
The new sort appears. To undo that sort, Project/Group By/No Group

You may do the same with the Task Usage or Resource Usage views but that may
be more complex... post back if you need help there.

I have been hitting submit too soon lately. The other thing about the new
sort is that your costs will rollup properly to the "Site1", "Site2", etc.
summary lines. Try it.
