tracking view in PWA shows only one day

Hi, my names is Philipp Ritter.

I just resolved one problem with our Project 2003 Server, but now
theres a new one.
One of our employees has a problem with the PWA. If he clicks on
processes in PWA all processes assigned to him are shown, that works.
But on the right side of the table with the processes the part with
the days shows only one day, you cant click yourself to the past or
the next day with those small arrows. But the process is much longer
than only one day and it is always the actual date that is show, today
it is the 29.5. . Also the drop down fields, where you can enter start
and end date dont work.
If i go to another workstation and use this users account the problem
is gone and all days are shown correctly, its just on his workstation.
Maybe a problem with his IE7?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, this is likely to be an issue with the ActiveX controls. I would delete
and then reinstall them in the 1st instance. Details can be found herehttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/818046

Hi Ben, thanks for the tip.
It sounded promising, but unfortunately it didnt help. The error
persists. This is the only feature which doesnt work. Any other tips?

If it is workstation specific then the only things PWA relies on are IE and
ActiveX. What about other users on his workstation, do they get the same
problem? I can't think of anything in IE that would modify this. Is the
user logging on as a Windows account or Project Server account?

Hi Ben!

Yeah, other user also have this. If i take my account and log myself
in on his computer i have the same problem. We dont use Project Server
Accounts, we're relying on Active Directory to identify ourself on the
Project Server.
And i thought that too, the only thing PWA is using on that
workstation ist ActiveX and IE7. I have tried the user on a windows
2000 server machine with IE6, everything works fine there too.

hmm, I'd try downgrading IE7 back to 6, or exporting cookies etc from 6 and
importing to 7, but I'm only clutching at straws.

A few things:

1) Do you have any browser add-ins installed on this machine? If so, remove
them.
2) Are you using Vista on this machine? If so, temporarily disable the
firewall
3) Can you verify that you have the latest MDAC version installed on this
machine? If not, install the lateste version by downloading it from
Microsoft.

Also, I think you should try Ben's suggestion about deleting and
reinstalling the ActiveX objects, although this time, I'd like you to do it
using a Command window. Navigate to the downloaded programs directory and
type the command: del pj*.* and then reinstall.

Hi Gary,

thanks for your response and sorry for the late answer. There was
IE7Pro installed on this machine, but uninstalling didnt help. Also,
MDAC 2.8 is installed cause its coming with Windows XP SP2. Or is
there a newer version i dont know?
I reinstalled the ActiveX Objects with both methods, but it didnt help.

Time to seek support. I think you need to share a desktop with an expert to
get to the root of the problem

Calling Microsoft Support cause of this problem? Well, ive got to say
that i rather reinstall windows than spending the money for the
support ;)...I dont know anyone else who could help me with this
problem...

Hi,

I know this is a very old post but for those who come into the same problem here is the solution I found:

1. I was missing the PJCalendar11.ocx.
2. I downloaded and to C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files where the other PWA activeX controls are
3. Open a command window (make sure you run it as administrator)
4. register the activex control: regsvr32 PJCalendar11.ocx
5. Close and open back the browser and hopefully this will solve this problem also to you.

I have faced this problem after I installed office 2010.

Cheers,
Gabi
