Traditional Chinese IME - problems inputting

I have the global IME installed on my computer. PRC
Simplified characters can be input using the kuanpin
without issue, but I can't find a pinyin input method for
Taiwan(complex) characters. I'm sure there must be one
included in the package.
Also, with the simplified characters, I don't have the
normal character recognition as I type, but have to
choose each single or pair of characters from the list.
Why is this? What do I do to make it more sophisticated?
