Trail Office 2007 Downloaded cannot type anything - not working

First it took me over 4 hrs to download this file. It is on my computer.
When I open excel and word I cannot type anything. I did download 1 now I am
downloading download 2 which I do not know if this is necessary?

Yes I did receive it. Now I am downloading the download 2 which has like 2
hrs to go Should I not download it? The activation key code was placed in and
the program was downloaded as an EXE file. I see it on my start menu and when
I go into word or excel cant type in it And yes I checked for num lock, for
excel
No words can be typed in excel and or word

You can only install 1 trial version.

After you activated it, did you reboot your computer.

Well I did the download 2 and now it seemed to work for excel- Have not tried
word yet- but since this is not my default office- as this 07 is a trial, if
I download an excel file will it open in Office 2000 or 07? I ssume I can
retrieve it from 02 anyway- cause it will be in the 07 folders?

I also hear that if I send someone a file from and they don;t have 07 on
their computer the sent file will not open?

Well I don't see where I can open an excel file on my 02 and view it from 07
There is nothing on the menu that lets me open a file?

So i x'd out the eheet the program opened with and now I cannot access a new
sheet to type something in now.
What is up with this program?

I click the arrow at the top where it says new and now nothing happens.
