Going Mad!

I am having this exact problem with Groove 2007 Services. I had a tablet
break and need to transfer the license. I've been transfered from dept to
dept when calling MS. Around 6 hours of my time (for a $79 license)! What
are we suppose to do when we reload someone's machine or if they have a
hardware failure? It installs fine on the new machine but will not activate
because it has already been activated (on the broken machine). The
"telephone support" option is "greyed" out, leaving online activation as my
only choice.

Has MS done so good of a job at anti-piracy that THEY can't even control
their licenses? Please proove me wrong.

i got it! - i logged into their website (www.groove.net) - went to the "My
software" page and revoked the license, then emailed it to the new user. it
worked for me.

I'm using MS Groove 2007, not 3.1. I'm assuming the licensing is done
differently. 3.1 going through Groove Networks (pre MS) and 2007 through MS.
I don't have a groove.net account therefore I can't login and revoke a
license.

correct

this is known as hosted services and allows you to issue and retract your
licenses as desired

that said, there is a mess with licensing as we just bought 25 2007 licenses
but they won't fit the copy downloaded from MS - different versions, diff
plans and no one seems to know exactly what applies and whether hosted
services are available to all users or have to be bought for an additional 39$
