Transfering Office program to different Mac.

Im switching Mac's soon and I was wondering if this was possible ? And
if it is, how do you do it ?

Drag it over.

New Macs come with a magic to load everything from your old machine
automagically. You may need a 6-pin to 6-pin Firewire cable.

Office programs will sulk if they discover a Doppelganger on the same
network. I think you can legally use the same serial number on lappy
and desktop, just not at the same time. (I could use some confirmation
of that)

When I get mine, now delayed to *next* Monday, I'm gonna re-install
Office from fresh. It is a heaven sent opportunity to clean out all the
fluff in its navel, and clip the nose hairs.

I think it's called Migration Assistant, part of OS. So check MacHelp--it
may do all this for you for all programs, not just Office. It should clone
your old drive onto your new drive, even if you are switching to a new OS
with the new computer.

*Damn* good chance. It may not be legal, but with that email address
and nym, you are good to go with no fear of black helicopters. Just
don't try to run 'em both at once while on the same network. One will
refuse. Murphy's law states that it will be the one with the most
irreplaceable document.

You will soon realise that coughing up for a legal serial number is
more efficient, unless of course you are totally skint.
