Go to Project Center, click on the project and hit edit projection
properties. You can change the project owner here. Then open the
project in Project Pro, insert the status manager column and make sure
all tasks have the project managers name as the status manager. This
should do it.

Dale,

Yes, it address my requirement. However, I am curious to know what happens
when there are 3 Status Manager and 1 Owner for the same projects. As this
facility available in PSVR 2007.

Difficult I have or trying to understand what happens when SAP interface
built with MSPS and what would be position when a resource submits their
updates to the new status manager.
- Do the new status manager will get an update
- Will the update be sent to SAP as well from MSPS even when new
Status manager comes in.

Yes, it is certainly possible to have multiple Status Managers for a
project. Each one would need to open the project and choose his/her own
name in the Status Manager field for the tasks he/she managers, and then
click File - Publish to publish the project. Project Server 2007 will send
task updates from team members to the correct Status Manager for each task.
However, concerning the SAP functionality, I have no idea as I am not
familiar with SAP. You might ask the people who set up the SAP interface
about that one. Hope this helps.

I was wondering if you could please help me. I am running into this issue. I am trying to transfer project ownership but the person is not in the owner drop down in project server 2007. I was advised to open the project plan in professional and set him/her as the status manager but he/she is not in this drop down unless he/she open the project plan. So, I am sort of confused. Any solutions to this? Thank you.

The new Project "owner" needs to have the Global Permission of "New
Project" activated on his security profile.Once this security option
is activated, you should see the new PM in the drop down field of
"Owner" when editing the project properties.
