Transfering Word Doc tables into a Excel Database

Hi,

Could anyone tell me whether or not it is possible to
easily import a batch of word documents which includs data
in tables into a excel .xls file?

I have thousands of files that need to be put into a new
database.

Hope anyone can answer?
