Transferring address book, journal, calender in outlook

I had to reformat my hard drive so I could reinstall XP. I backed up my hard
drive to an external drive before I did this. So, my question is; Is there
a way I can retrieve my address book, settings, contacts, journal, etc from
my previous folder that has outlook in it?? I had to reinstall Office XP so
I have a fresh version of Outlook that is just waiting to be whole again.
Any help would be appreciated
