transferring microsoft office 2000 to new computer

I have new Dell computer and i want to transfer my microsoft office which i
legally bought ,to my new pc. I have the CD and Product ID. When i try to do
this ,i get error message product id is not matching. How does one solve this
problem?

Where did you get the product ID from? Is it on a Orangeish sticker on
the sleeve of CD? If so then you need to read it properly making sure I
(letter i) is not read as 1 (#1) etc etc.

If your new computer came with a trial version of Office 2003
preinstalled on the hard drive by the computer manufacturer, then
you should uninstall the trial version before installing your
full version of Office 2000.
