Transferring ownership of projects and tasks

Andre

After transferring ownership of projects and tasks the previous owner
still receives alerts of pending timesheets. These alerts can be
handled in the 'approve timesheet' function under 'Resources'. They are
not shown under 'Updates'.

Does anyone have a clue as to what may be the cause of this?

Thanks,

André

The symptom you describe sounds like the previous owner of the project is
still a resource manager and you have timesheet approval turned on for that
role. In the top right, instead of Update (which would indicate the project
manager/owner) you will see "Save" (applicable to a resouce manager).

Andre --

If you are using the Timesheet Approval functionality of Project Server
2003, then the Owner field has nothing to do whatsoever with who has
permission to perform the timesheet approval process. Those with timesheet
approval permissions are members of the Resource Managers group, and the
resources for whom they have permission to approve timesheet are those
defined in your RBS field code structure.

If your problem is that you wish to completely transfer the ownership of the
project from one manager to another, so that the new manager can approve
task updates on the Updates page in PWA, refer to the following link for the
steps you missed:

Hope this helps.
