Transferring Task Updates

G

Ginger

Hi all,

Several project files were first published at the other
guy's machine, and then migrated to mine (Publish-
Republish Assignments-Become Manager of tasks). However,
several updates keep on coming to the first manager's mail
and he's still shown as the Owner of project files in PWA.

Is there anything that can be done, except erasing files
from database and publishing them again from my machine?

Regards,

Ginger,
Project controller

Dear Ginger,

Project Owner can be changed by Current owner or Admin from the Project web
Access (Project Center) by editing project proerties.

Before this make sure that there are no pending updates for previous manager.

Post changing of owner you can open this, Re-publish assignments (Entire
Project).

This should redirect all updtes to you.

Regards,
Sumit.

Thanks.

By "redirect all updates to me" you mean all the updates
which will come in the future? Not the ones which have
already come to the first manager?

Ginger.

Exactly, all future updates would be redirected to you. Past updates have to
be approved by old PM.

Sumit,
I've experienced a different behavior. If I re-pub (specific tasks, or
entire project) as manager, the updates that had been sitting (unprocessed)
in the other/old managers PWA view, would then show up in my PWA Updates
view.

We've done this same thing numerous times (due to PrjMgr vacations this past
summer), and it has always behaved as described.

Some assignment have seemed to be reluctant in coming over to my Updates
'in-box', and I've had to use the resource view in PrjPro to selectively
re-pub those assignments.

Hope this helps,
Nicky
