Transferspreadsheet - datatype error

When I use Transferspreadsheet to import an excel file to
a temporary table, the datatype of a particular field is
assumed by Access as Number and most of the data for the
field, which are Text(eg. 100123-1,10022CB100 etc) are
just empty in the table.

How do I overcome this?

Any help is appreciated
