Transition probs b/t text and movie slides

We're doing a presentation in PP2003 using the dual monitor display.
We've got text slides and then slides with a movie inserted into it.
If we play the slideshow and let it go in order, it does just fine.
But if we try to jump to a slide that's out of order in the show, it
freaks out. It becomes unstable and unpredictable. Is this a bug?
Anyone else have this problem....or a solution?

PowerPoint tries to look ahead to the next slide and get ready for what's
coming up. However, when you do not follow the normal sequence, this does
not apply. The program is scrambling to load all the elements, arrange and
display them as fast as it can. Movies are usually large and take time to
load into memory, so they are sometimes worse when "jumped" to. The system
may require additional time, or poorly render objects as it becomes
overloaded in the moment of frenzy.

If you can, insert a slide before these things that you can jump to as soon
as possible, allowing the system to look ahead at the next slide as much as
possible and your presentation should become more stable.
