Transparency of Word Art

I am creating graphics in my word document that require the transparency of the Word Art graphic over a picture graphic. When viewing the file in Word, the transparency is active, but when it prints you can't see through it at all

PLEASE HELP ... ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY
