Trblsht: Error Message: source file contains invalid project data

I saved the file as write protected but when I tried opening the file I got
an error message "operation cannot be completed because the source file
contains invalid project data or the number of rows would be exceeded"

I just got the same error. My situation is that someone had created the
schedule in Project 2000, I have project 2003. When you mentioned that the
file was write protected that gave me the idea to 'uncheck' the 'read-only'
attribute. When I do that the file opens up fine.

When I was getting the error message, the file would still open but some of
the data that I was expecting to be there had disappeared like assigned
resources and estimated effort.

Hope you found your answer since you posted this in July and here it is
August.
