Trial Period Expired in Project Server 2007

Hello

I have installed the Trial versions of Project Server 2007 and Office
Project 2007 on a Windows SBS 2008 server. I following the Deployment
instructions for a server farm environment. Yet when I try to navigate to
the site I created (http://servername/ProjectServer) I get Error - Trial
Period Expired.

I just got the Trial Period License less than 2 weeks ago. If I go back to
Central Administration, Application Management, Check Services Enabled in
this Farm, I have one that says "Licensing" and the following: The trial
installation on server servername will expire on 5/4/2010 11:59:59 PM.

I can't move forward. Can anyone help?

The only other issue I encountered was when I tried to install Project
Server 2007 Trial initially, I had to uninstall Windows Sharepoint Services
3.0 (from add/remove programs) to get the "Complete" version of Project
Server.

SBS is not a supported platform for Project Server, so there may be some
hacks you need to make to get it to work. Perhaps someone else has some
experience to offer, but I'd look for references on TechNet or Google to see
if there are any.

Thanks for the response Gary .

Do you happen to know if SBS supports any version of Project Server (and/or
vice versa)?

Thanks
Keri-Lyn

Keri-Lyn:

SBS is not a supported platform. You can look around the net to find a hack,
but it is not supported. If you're going to hack it, you'll definitely need
to go with the better SKU. Also, know that 2010 will definitely not work on
SBS, hack or no hack.

Thanks for all your help Gary.

My network guy here is (being stubborn) still not believing that it will not
work on SBS 2008. Can you point me to any documentation that might help me
prove this to him before he goes and purchases Project Server 2007 for this
machine? Is there somewhere I can refer to for supported vs. non-supported
software for Windows SBS 2008 vs regular Windows 2008?

I believe he believes that the "SBS" version of Windows 2008 just comes with
a whole lot of "extra's".

Thanks for whatever ammunition you can provide - he purchased the SBS
machine and now wants to purchase Project Server 2007 (because we are trying
to migrate from Project Server 2003) - but I will be the one stuck
administering it!

Keri:

You can look at the software requirements for Project Server 2007 which do
not include SBS, or you can have Mr. Stubborn do a search on Project Server
2007 with SBS and perhaps other folks tales of woe will convince him.
