trial software registration with pro version

My computer came with trial office software. I loaded the office pro version.
When I try to start word, I get the "enter your key" screen. My new key does
not unlock it.

Are you trying to use a key for a full version of Office on a trial version?
If so, that won't work. If you have the full version, dump the trial
version, restart, install the full version.
