Trial Version Installation Error

Hi all,

I am trying to setup MOSS and Project Server 2007 on a two server farm. I
originally started with a licensed version of MOSS 2007 installed and tried
to build from there however I am working with the Project Server 2007 trial
edition and received this error on trying to install:

Microsoft Office Server Trial Edition products may not be installed on a
server with licensed Microsoft Office Server Prodcuts. Remove existing
Microsoft Office Server products and re-run setup.

So I thought that to get my installation running, I could uninstall my
licensed version of MOSS and then install a trial version of that. Which I
did. But now when I try to install the PS2007 trial, I get the same error.

Is there a way to bypass this? Its driving me nuts.

Thanks!

Gary,

This will solve part of the problem. However, the second server in my farm
is running MS SQL server 2005 (which I own as well). This provides the same
error. I really don't understand how MS can offer a trial version (with no
support) and not allow people to use it in a trial environment.

The same error regarding project server coming from the SQL machine? Why is
this machine a farm member? I think it's best not to run WSS components on
the SQL box. If I'm understanding you correctly, you should consider
removing it from the farm.
