trial version of microsoft word will not uninstall properly!

I am having problems getting my 2007 Office Home and Student
to work. Before I purchased Office, I had the trial version installed on my
computer. Upon purchasing office, I attempted to put the license code
into the trial version to convert it to the full version, and my license code
would not work. I then tried to uninstall the trial version, and my
computer will not let me uninstall it. When I go into "programs and
features" (on windows vista) and go to uninstall it, it attempts to and then
tells me that "Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Trial uninstall did not
complete
successfully". I have also tried to install the Office download that I
got after purchasing the software, but that download will not install
either, as it keeps running into errors. So basically i have a
non-functioning trial version that won't convert to the full version, and
won't uninstall.

«How to uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using
the "Add or Remove Programs" feature»

This is a manual uninstall to use if the system refuses to uninstall by
itself, and involves deleting files and registry entries. "After you use
this method, you can reinstall the 2007 Microsoft Office system."

Thank you, I tried this method and it did not work. The new version of
office (Home & Student) still will not install at all. any other thoughts?

Just to go back and make sure that you have deleted everything that the
article says to delete. I am thinking that you missed something.
