"trial version???"

I just bought a new pc and it appeared to have office
installed (which was a surprise to me - I wasn't
expecting it). When I tried to go into any application,
it goes into the setup screen asking for a 25-character
key, etc.

Is this some sort of trial version? If so, how do I get
it off my computer???

Check with the manufacturer from whom you ordered the computer. They can
tell you if it is a trial version (highly doubtful) or you can check your
manifest to see what is included in your computer purchase. You will also
have other materials that came with the computer so look through them to see
ifyou have the PID for installation.

If Office was pre-installed on your system, it is an OEM version and the manufacturer, Dell, HP, etc.. is responsible for providing you with the key code for activation. As stated your materials ie: cd's manuals, etc... should have this information.
If not you will need to contact the manufacturer and demand the cd's for Office and the product key codes for activation.
