Tried to set up exchange in outlook, now can't access servers, help

I tried to set up exchange by mistake. The program hung up and did not
complete. The exchange was listed in the email accounts so I deleted it and
since then I cannot access any of my emails from several accounts. It seems
that the problem began after I tried to mistakenly install the exchange
server. Anyone else have the same problem and more importantly, how to fix!
Thanks, Gutgolfer

Go to control panel, mail, and see if you can edit the profile there - make
sure you have a PST file set for delivery. If you can't edit the profile
successfully, create a new one that has only the services you want.
You don't mention your version of Outlook....it always helps to do so.

Thanks, I have tried what you state below. I cannot seem to be able to 'have
a PST file set for delivery'. I have Outlook 2003. I found that there were
two data files named outlook. I deleted the one with no data in it. From the
mail icon I tested my email accounts and was able to send a test message but
when I do the same thing from within outlook, it fails again. I'm not sure
that I want to create a new profile, if i do that then I am starting over
right? I need access to my old emails, address book etc. Do I need to
reinstall outlook?

No - but you can try creating a new mail profile that uses your existing PST
file (that has all your data in it).

Thanks for the help. What I did yesterday was uninstall outlook, reinstall it
and the program now works. What a relief. I didn't have to create any new
profiles.

OK - sometimes it is more work/takes longer to do what you did. Glad it's
working, though.
