Trouble copy/pasting text from Office Word

I have been at wits end, I hope someone here can help me. I have a novella
that I've written in Office Word but whenever I try to copy paste a chapter
from the body of text to an online writers group, all the punctuations
change, for example "He's going to town." ends up looking like AHe=s going
to town.A I don't know why it happens but is there something i'm doing
incorrectly or is it the site i'm copying it to? It happens with Corel Word
perfect as well. Any information would be most welcome.
Thanks,
Debbie

Hi Debbie,

If the web group is supporting plain text and you're using language formatting in Word and Wordperfect you can get the type of
behavior you're seeing. You may find that simply turning off the Tools=>Autocorrect feature to disable 'change quotes to smart
quotes' will fix this.

If you open a new Word document and use Edit=>Paste Special=>Unformatted text and then copy and paste from that document do you get
the same result?

Or, if you use File=>Web Page Preview in your document and copy from that preview page and paste does it work differently?

Hi Bob,

I've tried all options you listed including the web page preview and all
produce the same results, I'm starting to think that it's got something to do
with the website. I'm at the end of my rope. Thanks for the suggestions
though. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Debbie,

If you open Windows Notepad (Start=>Programs=>Accessories and paste from Word to Notepad, then in Notepad reselect that text and
copy to the website does that work?

What website is it where you're seeing it?
