Trouble installing Office Enterprise 2007

I have Office 2003, and received a copy of Office Enterprise 2007 through the
Microsoft Home Use Program (from my employer). It's a fresh, new disk
shipped directly to me (never been loaded on another computer).

When I insert the disk and enter the 25-character Product Key, the
installation wizard screen asks me if I want to "Upgrade" or "Customize" - I
chose "Upgrade." From there, the whole computer just froze up - current
configuration displayed, but nothing works (not even the mouse cursor).

I've repeated this multiple times, and even left the computer in this mode
for a few hours, assuming it just needed time to think.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance,
James

I would check the event log and see if an error is being recorded. Is this
under Windows XP or Vista? If the latter, which version?

Thanks. I checked the event log, and found what I thought was an error. I
noted it, clicked on it, and then closed the error log and all other
programs. When I tried again to install office 07, it worked! (By the way,
this was on Windows XP.)

Thanks for the help.

I am having the same trouble but don't know what you mean by an event log.
Can you give a novice a bit of guidance here?

Thanks

I wish I could say I have an answer, but instead, I'm having the sam
problem- but when I clicked on the error it didn't help. My OS is XP
and the error log says, and I quote, "Hanging application setup.exe
version 12.04518.1014, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0, hang adres
0x00000000."

I get the feeling something is hung up. I would be grateful for an
suggestions.
