Trouble opening access database thru website

I have a user who wants to open an access database thru
his departments intranet site. The database opens
correctly on machines with Access 2003 but with Access
2000 the file starts to open but just stops with no error
message. Any ideas?

Yes, don't. Even if it works, you're asking for corruption. If you are going
to make a web connection to the database; use remote control software,
terminal services software, or design web pages that will access the file
for you. This way the file will be open and run from the host computer. Even
if directly opening the file over the Internet connection works for a while,
once you start getting several megabytes of data in it, you're not going to
like it.
