trouble playing AVI files?

I have office 2007. My AVI videos play very choppy in power point. The larger
the video file, the slower and more choppy the video appears. Is this a
problem with Vista or my hardware?

Video does require more processor power -- also does the video cover the
full slide?

Also, you might have a large resolution video that you resized?
