Trouble printing linked-to images in Word 2002

In Word 2002 SP2 under XP Professional, I'm having
trouble printing linked-to images. It seems that if I
don't scroll through the document and let every image
come up on the screen, when I go to print, I get the
missing-image box instead of the image. I'm not clear yet
if this works, as I'm trying to print a 75-page document
with 35 linked-to images. When I first opened the
document and tried printing, Word didn't print a single
iamge. When I scrolled through the document to make sure
the images were still there and then started printing,
Word printed the first 6 images just fine, and then
started printing empty boxes. Seems dumb to me.

Andre,

"Picture placeholders" has always been unchecked.

That works great. I tested opening the document and
printing a single page with an image well into the
document without viewing it with "Update Links"
unchecked; no image printed. If I close and start over
and check "Update Links" and then print that same page,
it prints just fine.

Thanks. --- Jerry Winzig

Go to Tools > Options > Views (under the show heading, uncheck "Picture
placeholders").

Try this. Go to Tools > Options > Print (tab) (under Printing
options(heading), check "Update Links". Try Printing again and tell me if
you encounter any problems.
