Trouble publishing web

V

vicki

I up loaded new pages successfully Friday night. Then I
spent the whole day Saturday finishing more of my pages.
When I went to publish, I first got this error message:
An error occurred accessing your FrontPage web file.
Authors - if authoring against a web server, please
contact the webmaster for this erver's site. WebMasters -
please see the server's system log for more details.

I clicked OK and got this second error message:
Unable to open http:/vickijensen.com
Server error: An error occurred accessing your FrontPage
web file. Authors - if authoring against a web server,
please contact the webmaster for this erver's site.
WebMasters - please see the server's system log for more
details.
Possible causes:
1. The web server may not have the FrontPage Server
Extension installed.
2. The web server may be temperarily out of service.
3. If you are connecting through a proxy server, the
proxt settings may be incorrect.
4. An error may have occurres in the web server.

I am not a computer guru, but have never had any problems
with FrontPage until now. Could someone please help me?
My hosting server says nothing is wrong on their end. I
am desparate to get this resolved because I am trying to
get a merchant account to accept credit cards and the
bank is expecting to see my web site up and runnning on
Monday.

Thanks!
Vicki

Have you tried using: http://www.vickijensen.com instead of
http://vickijensen.com ?

If the above doesn't work try opening your live site first directly in FP
before publishing from your local copy using http://www.vickijensen.com

Yes, I have used the "www". That was an error in my
original post.
What do you mean about opening the live site first
directly in FP before publishing?
Thanks!

Ok, see if you can directly open your live site in FP, using File Menu |
Open Web and enter http://www.vickijensen.com then your login info, then
click OK, then Click Open

If that works, then open you local copy in FP and File Menu | Publish Web
and enter http://www.vickijensen.com Since the you already have the live
site open in FP, you should not be prompted to login, etc. and the publish
should start immediately.

Thank you, Tom for your assistance, but I still get the
same error messages as in my original post. I am so sad
and fustrated that this is not working. Why would FP be
fine one day and not the next. All I did yesterday is add
more JPEGS and text and then saved each page.
Any further thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I
don't have the money that Microsoft wants for support
over the phone.

See if the following helps, with FP closed.

Search for .web these are hidden/system files
Delete the FP Temp folder under Windows Temp folder
Delete all .tmp files

If the above doesn't help, then try...

If you have a cable modem, disconnect for about 5 minutes, shut down your
computer, after 5 minutes turn on the cable modem and wait till it connects,
then start your PC.

This is all I can think of.
