trouble shooting outlook

I can recieve but cannot send email - it times out. I
have check the Stmp addresses and they are valid. Any
knows what else I can try?

I had a similar issue setting up my GF's Yahoo Mail in
Outlook 2000. I was trying to use Yahoo's SMTP, but it
wouldn't work, so I had to use my ISP's SMTP address and
now it works fine.
