Trouble starting Word

When I clcik on the Word icon I get the message Error
1402. Setup cannot open the registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\office\11.0\Word.

I have tried unistalling Office 2003 but when I do I get
the same error message.

This is a home computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Duh, I'd try to fully remove MS Office from the computer...
not only by uninstalling Office, but by cleaning the
registry also. Make a registry backup first, so you don't
mess up anything, then search for MICROSOFT OFFICE and
OFFICE entries (take a look first before deleting so you're
sure you're deleting a Microsoft Office entry, not any
other application that may have a similar entry (I.E. If
you find a StarOFFICE entry... don't delete it!!)

Then reinstall Office
