Trouble using the Door shape in the Walls, Door and Windows (US) g

I doing a diagram of an existing hallway for future construction, but I'm
having trouble using the door shapes. What happens is as I bring the door
icon close to a wall the door snaps connecting the middle connection point of
the door to the wall putting it out of place. Am I using the door shapes
incorrectly, or what do I need to do to correct this?
