Trouble with printing crop marks for business cards

Nancy Zaffaro

Hello,
Hope someone can help. I am trying to print crop marks for business cards
I've created using a Publisher template.

I'd like to print 5 down and 2 across, but I can't seem to get the settings
right to print the crop marks. I am changing the setting in Page
Set-up/Change Copies per sheet. Does anyone know what setting I need to use
that would allow me to get the fewest cuts?

I am selecting "Allow Crop Marks", "Bleeds" and "Bleed Marks" in Page
Settings.

Thank you!
Best,
Nancy

If your publication fits the entire page you will not see crop marks. Are you using
un-perforated card stock?
Draw a rectangle around your card, use a light line weight.

To setup a business card in page setup, click change copies per sheet, side .75, top
..5, zero for gaps.

Mary,

Thanks for your help. Yes, I am using unperforated stock. I do not want to
use perforated. I'm printing on good quality 80 pound 8.5" x 11" card stock.
I want to print up a stack (for a number of different employees) and take
them in to be cut. I'd prefer not to use lines, because if they cut, even
just a little bit off, the lines will show. Crop marks appear OUTSIDE the
business card, so no risk of showing on the card.

I tried your settings, but you still don't get crop marks to appear. I guess
I"m willing to go to only 8 cards, rather than 10, but I still can't seem to
get it right. The templates just don't work for this purpose. Seems I should
be able to trick it into doing it, but...

If you have any other suggestions, I'm happy to try.

Thanks!
Best,
Nancy

Make your document size 7" x 10", 2 across x 5 down.
Include the crop marks from the print dialog

Hello pdan,

This sounds like something, but I'm not seeing how to change the document
size. Not in page setup?

Thank you, once again. I appreciate the help.

Setup your page, .5 all around, top, side and gaps. This will give you 8
cards and the crop marks.

Mary,

Yes, that worked and that may be what I have to do. Downside: I'm printing
8, not 10 and it requires a few more cuts, both of which end up costing more.
But it will work.

Thanks.
Best,
Nancy
