Trouble with the music setting

I have some music on the slideshow already.... the thing is I'm trying to add
another one in I put in the way I did it the last time and it won't play the
song it will play everything else except the song

It is possible you have a bad "Song" .
there are many reasons it could not be working. What type of audio format is
it?
does it play anywhere else on the computer?

It plays on another program (windows media Player), the other song that is on
the slideshow is also from window media player, and it works okay

Please tell us the version of PowerPoint your using, also the type of music file
your trying to insert, and how your inserting it.
