Troubleshooting MP3s

I had a power point presentation that I created in Power Point 2002, with
several MP3 files playing through it. When my laptop crashed, I transfered
the files to a new computer, and then had to delete the music links and
re-link them all. It worked ok, except I'm having a problem with 2 of the MP3
files. When I click on them to play, no sound comes out, but with other MP3
files, I have no trouble. I tried playing the ones that aren't responding in
Windows Media player and they played fine there. Also, they played well in
mplay32.exe. The other funny thing is that I had enstalled the same version
of Power Point on my new computer.
If you have any ideas of what else I can try, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks,
Sparrow

Where do you have the MP3's stored? In My Documents or in a deep hierarchy of
folders? If the path exceeds 128 characters, PowerPoint won't play them. Try
moving everything to C:\Test and delete and reinsert the sound files and run the
presentation. Do the sound files work?

Thank you so much! That solved the problem! Now that I look at it, it was the
files with longer names that didn't work and the ones with shorter names did,
even though they all were in the same folder.
Thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you!
