Troubleshooting of Help in Office 2003

B

BlaBla1

Help seems to be running awfully slow the first time I use it. Any
suggestion as to why, and how I might remedy the issue.

Essentially, when I press F1, I get Assistance. I then enter what I'm
looking help on in the search field. I click on the white arrow to the
right. If there's a match, I click on the relevant link (which is preceded
by a white question mark in a blue circle). It's at that point that my
computer freezes for about 60 to 90 seconds (all I get is the hourglass)
untill the relevant help topic is displayed. As long as I have help open /
minimized though, when I use Assistance again, it is speedy. But if I close
it, next time around, it takes another 60-90 seconds.

I'm looking forward to your thoughts / ideas.

Do you have a slow internet connection? dial up?
For Office 2003 many of the Help features are web based so you can get up to
date information all the time.

Unfortunately, the server which handles Office help is frustratingly slow.
It takes much longer to get a set of irrelevant responses from Office 2003
than it did from Office 2000.
