Troubleshooting Unable to open or save file in Office

N

Nancy Randall

All of a sudden I can't open files in Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) or
save files once a create them. I tried to restore to an earlier date on my
computer thinking that maybe something was downloaded but that didn't work
then I took Office off of my computer and reinstalled it and it is still
doing the same thing.

Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help. I deleted the HP Share to Web software and that solved
the problem. I have all of the current updates from Microsoft so apprantely
the new release didn't fix all the problems. I didn't change my registry, I
wonder if I need to do that? It is working so maybe not? Any suggestions is
appreciate.

No need to modify the registry if you can live w/out the HP Share to Web
software. If you really want it back and think editing the registry by hand
sucks, then you can go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
(scroll down to "383" and look at the right side) and download a fix for
Windows XP. Download the hp.vbs file to your hard drive and then double
click on the file and it will add the registry keys for you.

PS - The fix above shouldn't work for Windows 2000 users because the
registry key entry is slightly different.
