Trying to connect to SMTP servers for accounts configurd not to se

Outlook 2003: I don't get why the "Outlook Send/Receive Progress" window
shows tasks and errors for trying to send e-mail on e-mail accounts that I do
NOT send e-mail from.
Send/Receive Groups is setup so that "Send mail items" is UNCHECKED for
these accounts - so why am I getting

Task 'my e-mail account name here - Sending' reported error 0x80042109:
Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server...

I don't EVER want it to try to connect to the SMTP servers for these
accounts - that is why I have unchecked "Send mail items" for these accounts.

Anybody know how I can fix this??

Further details:
Here's the details:
-I use the group "All Accounts" where I have 3 accounts setup.
-The 'setting' for "All Accounts": 'Include this group in send/receive (F9)'
is checked; 'Schedule an automatic send/receive every 5 minutes' is checked
-The 3 accounts: 'Include the selected account in this group' is checked for
all 3; 1 account has 'send mail items' checked ('receive mail items' is
unchecked); the 2 other accounts have 'receive mail items' checked ('send
mail items' is unchecked for these 2 accounts)

Another setting 'when outlook is offline', 'Include this group in
send/receive (F9)' is also checked. Am not sure how this setting works but
don't think it is related to the problem.
