Trying to delete emails crashes Entourage

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop I have 3 emails that I cannot delete. If I try to do so Entourage freezes. I have tried all the utilities - for hours - without success. If I try Entourage Utilities, it crashes as the end of Rebuild Database approaches so I then have to Force Quit it, Force Quit Entourage log out of OSX or restart, and log in again.

This only started today as I was having a big clearout of emails and folders.
