Trying to insert Chart in Powerpoint 2007.

When I try to click on the chart I want to insert, I get a message "To first
insert a chart, you must close any open dialog boxes or cancel editing mode
in Microsoft Excel." And then when I click okay, I get this: "Some charts
cannot be combined with other charts. Select a different type of chart."
THe problem is that I don't have Excel open and I'm not trying to insert
multiple charts. Help!!!

Have you tried running diagnostics on PPT? Office-button - Options for PPT -
Resources -
Click Diagnose, click Continue, and then click Start Diagnostics.
