trying to install mffice home & student

any and all attempts end shortly after the installation begins. no error
message other than "installer encountered an error" What do I do now?

Post another message with more detail, such as operating system version.
Try installing in Safe Mode. Disable anti-virus software. Is this a
download install or from CD/DVD? Another version of Office installed?
